In 2019 Seattle City Council passed several new tenant protections bills that will go into effect in 2020. In this 2-hour seminar, learn the details of each ordinance and how they will impact your operations including:

  • Roommates brought in by your tenants must be allowed occupancy, and in some cases, tenancy.
  • Victims of domestic violence cannot be held liable for related damages to rental home.
  • Tenants must have option for non-electronic rent payment with written receipts.
  • Month-to-month tenancies may not be terminated without RRIO registration.
  • Information on city resources to be included on formal notices.
  • Expanded requirements to provide notice of intent to sell affordable rental properties.

RHAWA's government advocacy team, Kyle Woodring and Heather Pierce will explain each law and discuss how to adjust policies and procedures for rental operations.
