Rental Housing Association of Washington Announces Merger

Clark County Rental Association merges with statewide association

Seattle, WA - Following years of collaborative efforts and most recently in the 2025 Legislative Session, the Rental Housing Association of Washington (RHAWA) and the Clark County Rental Association (CCRA) have combined forces and merged effective November 1, 2025. This merger represents a continued unification of rental housing providers across the state and will combine the strengths of both associations to bring an unprecedented level of resources and support to housing providers in Clark County.

CCRA was established in 1981, dedicated to educating and assisting housing providers across Southwest Washington. Throughout its 44-year history, CCRA’s leadership developed strong relationships with lawmakers at both the state and local level, allowing them to share the perspectives of their membership and keep the Clark County area as one of the least restrictive regions in the state. Bringing together the forces of CCRA and RHAWA will strengthen these relationships, amplifying the voices of Clark County housing providers.

“We are thrilled to bring such an active association as the CCRA under the umbrella of RHAWA. CCRA has been a linchpin for rental housing owners in Southwest Washington, and we are extremely excited to combine their regional history and relationships with all of RHAWA’s leading rental forms, education, and statewide advocacy efforts,” said Sean Flynn, RHAWA’s Executive Director and Board President.

RHAWA has existed under various names since 1935, starting out as a Seattle-based association that grew into a regional resource throughout the Puget Sound area. In the early 2000s, RHAWA merged with another regional organization, and in 2012, aimed at becoming a statewide association. In 2020, RHAWA launched a Manufactured Housing Communities membership, and most recently in 2024, RHAWA merged with the Landlord Association of the Inland Northwest (LLA), which deepened their connection to Spokane and Spokane Valley.

“RHAWA has firmly entrenched itself as the voice of rental housing providers in the media, in Olympia, in local municipalities, and the industry as a whole. As an association we can use all these avenues of communication to work towards development and implementation of better rental housing policy for all, and we are very excited to have a bigger presence in Clark County,” said Flynn.

Current members of CCRA will be automatically upgraded to an RHAWA membership and will receive further information about benefits and account access.
