Last year's legislative session introduced Rent Control and complex rent increase notice service requirements to an already baffling matrix of state and local rental regulations plaguing Washington's housing providers over the last several years. This year looks to be much kinder, but the contradictory and unclear legal codes are still making it difficult to understand the regulatory requirements for the simplest of tasks or predict the outcomes of routine decisions.
