Seattle Fair and Stable Housing Laws
Online Only
Event Details
Seattle has passed numerous laws such as "First In Time" and "Fair Chance Housing" under SMC 14.08-9 that allow the city to enforce procedures intended to ensure fair housing rights for tenants and applicants. Additional "building code" laws under SMC 22.200-220 go beyond building and attempt to protect access to affordable housing in the city by restricting the owners right to end tenancies and sell properties. In this course, Attorney Chris Benis take you through these uniquely onerous rental property codes, explaining their purpose, how to comply, and how they are enforced.
