Seattle Fair and Stable Housing Laws

Seattle has passed numerous laws such as "First In Time" and "Fair Chance Housing" under SMC 14.08-9 that allow the city to enforce procedures intended to ensure fair housing rights for tenants and applicants. Additional "building code" laws under SMC 22.200-220 go beyond building and attempt to protect access to affordable housing in the city by restricting the owners right to end tenancies and sell properties.
