  • The rental agreement and security deposit.
  • Landlord and tenant duties.
  • Remedies to enforce the rental agreement.
  • Various aspects of termination of tenancy.

Section 2: Expansion of Local Rental Laws (3-hours)

Lecture and discussion exploring the rise and spread of local rental laws from one jurisdiction to another. See "Additional References" for corresponding written materials. Various types of local laws are reviewed including:

  • Rental Registration and Inspection.
  • Termination Limited to Just Causes.
  • Rental Agreement Regulations.
